Preschool homeschooling is one of my favorite seasons—full of discovery, creativity, and so many “aha!” moments. This year, we put together our custom preschool homeschool curriculum tailored to our child's interests and learning pace. It's been a fun process, and I'm excited to share the resources we used and how they've worked for us!
Why We Built Our Own Preschool Homeschool Curriculum
When planning for the year, I couldn't find a pre-built curriculum that checked all the boxes for us. We wanted something flexible and engaging, focusing on early literacy, numeracy, and room for play and exploration. After much research and brainstorming, we decided the best option was to create our own blend of resources and activities.
This custom curriculum allowed us to focus on what works best for our preschooler and adapt as needed. And the best part? It still feels approachable and not overwhelming for me as the teacher!

- Art & Craft Projects: Crafting is a fun way to tie everything together. We've made handprint letter art, created number collages, and even made paper plate clocks for practicing counting.
4. Nature & Exploration
We also prioritize time outdoors, incorporating nature study and movement into our lessons. A lot of math and science happens naturally during these times. 5. Practical Life Skills
Part of our curriculum also involves life skills. We use routines like baking together (which sneaks in math) and organizing toys (matching and sorting) as opportunities for learning. It's wonderful to see our preschoolers gaining independence while building practical skills.

What I love most about this custom curriculum is its flexibility and simplicity. Preschoolers are naturally curious and eager to learn through play, and this mix of resources caters to those instincts.
