As Veterans Day approaches, many families seek ways to honor and thank those who have served our country. If you're a homeschooler, there are many fun and meaningful ways to commemorate the day with your children. Here are some of our favorite Veterans Day homeschool resources. Enjoy!

First, what is Veterans Day, and why is it a holiday? Veterans Day in the United States is the day we honor military veterans for their service. In the United States, Veterans Day is November 11 every year. This day also marked the end of World War I in 1918. Many people choose to honor the veterans in their lives by recognizing their sacrifices. A thank you letter would be an excellent way for a child to honor a veteran.

Other options for honoring and learning about Veterans Day in your homeschool would be to interview a veteran, visit a memorial, learn about the different branches of the military, or write a thank you letter to a veteran. I have created this free printable Veterans Day thank you letter to help with your Veterans Day homeschool lesson.
